The truth is that playing poker online whether it is playing Blackjack, Texas Hold’em or any of the other games is that playing online gives you advantages.

Some of the advantages of playing poker online is that you can bypass the limits that many casinos have and you can also play at your own speed as opposed to being pushed by other players and even the dealers. If you want to win and have fun playing online poker then follow these 3 tips.

Online poker tips

Play as quick as you can – The reason why you want to play as quick as you can while still feeling comfortable is so you can win as much money as possible. Most people think the opposite way, play slowly so you don’t lose much. But with a losing attitude studies show that you will play with the under laying intention to lose.

Know the rules – Most people that play poker online know the rules but because there are so many more games online than in person you won’t know each one. If you are new to a game make sure you read the rules and play for free before you start to play for real money.
Be polite when playing live – If you have ever played a live game such as Texas Hold’em then you need to be polite. You will see that people will brag about hands and even bluffs, but don’t do this, you want to stay focused and alert with what is actually going on.

The Truth About Poker Strategy Books http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/the-truth-about-poker-strategy-books/ http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/the-truth-about-poker-strategy-books/#comments Mon, 04 Apr 2011 00:09:22 +0000 admin http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/?p=13 While many poker players love to think that they already have a fool proof strategy the truth is their strategy could use some work. If you have not won the biggest tournament of all for your particular poker game then you don’t have a great strategy, it may be good, but not great. In order to have a great poker strategy you need to refine and perfect your strategy and there is only one way to do that, read and execute.

Why read and execute? The reason why you need to read is because you most likely already have the foundation of the strategy down, but are you doing everything you can to optimize your playing time and experience? You should fine a well written book about the poker game you are playing and read it at least twice so you know ever little secret and trick the author is trying to teach you.

Why execute? This may be a dumb thing to talk about but the truth is that often times people forget to execute what they learned. Most of the time poker players will get too into the game they are playing and totally throw away everything they learned in the book they read. If you have a strategy you need to use it.
If you have ready more than 1 poker strategy book then you know that most of the information will be the same, the only difference will be the tips and tricks that they author gives you. In my opinion and in my other poker players opinion the more books you read about poker strategies the better you will be.

Create Your Home Poker Room http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/create-your-home-poker-room/ http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/create-your-home-poker-room/#comments Fri, 04 Mar 2011 00:08:02 +0000 admin http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/?p=11 Isn’t every poker players dream to have a fully equipped poker room inside their home? I know this is a dream of mine and if it is your dream as well then I have some advice to help you out. Most people think the only items they need for a poker room are a table, chairs and poker chips. This isn’t enough to fully equip your poker room.

If you plan on having game nights then there is more to your poker room than you think. For instance if you have people that like to eat and drink then you will need some cabinets and a fridge so you can hold all the drinks and snacks. Something else people love to do is smoke while playing poker and if this is the case then you may want to invest in a smoke fan that can suck up all the smoke so you don’t get it spread throughout the house.

As far as the table goes you will want to make sure you have enough chairs and a big enough table for a full game. Most people will have a minimum amount of chairs(8) plus some extra just in case. Another thing, there is nothing like playing poker with top of the line poker chips. Most home poker rooms have cheap plastic chips, but if you are going to go all out then you need to think about buying some higher grade playing chips that you would normally see inside a Las Vegas casino.

Just know that when it comes to creating your home poker room you should spare all expenses and give yourself the gift of happiness.

Tips To Make You A Winning Poker Player http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/tips-to-make-you-a-winning-poker-player/ http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/tips-to-make-you-a-winning-poker-player/#comments Fri, 04 Feb 2011 00:07:31 +0000 admin http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/?p=9 Are you tired of losing all the time? Most poker players start out losing but then they get into a groove where they keep winning and rarely see loses. If this is your goal then you need to learn and remember the following tips. Remember it isn’t about how much you win, it is about how often you win.

Tips to make you a winning poker player

Bankroll Management – The first thing is that you will want to manage the amount of money you have. Many poker players will have trouble doing this and because of it they see loses more often. The best thing to do is keep an eye on what you have because once you take your eye off your bankroll is when all the losing and frustration starts to happen.

Table Selection – This is key to winning. If you have a decent amount of money then it is normally a good idea to hit the tables with smaller cash players. The reason you want to do this is because your pile of cash/chips could easily bluff or scare your competition out of games very quickly and easily.

Keep Learning – The last tips is to keep learning. If you want to keep winning then you need to stay on top of the games. Just because you win one game or tournament doesn’t mean you are the best, it might just mean somebody had a bad day. Don’t count on this all the time, learn as much as you can while you are playing and while you are away from the game.

Understanding Poker http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/understanding-poker/ http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/understanding-poker/#comments Tue, 11 Jan 2011 00:06:23 +0000 admin http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/?p=7 Do you understand the game of Poker? Most people have played or know somebody that has played poker a time or two before and that is why it is one of the most commonly played household games in the world. If you don’t understand poker then you won’t like it, that is why I want to make sure you understand it completely.

There are many things you need to understand about poker but I want to make sure you understand the basics. Remember you have to learn to walk before you can learn to run. The first thing you should know is that poker is played with one 52-card deck and is always played with between 2-10 people. If you are playing a game like 7 card stud or razz then you can only play with 8 people but if you play some form of Texas Hold’em then you have the ability to play with 10 people.

Another thing you must understand about poker is that not every hand will be a winning hand. The overall strategy is to always win more than you lose, just like in any casino environment. If you want to win big then you don’t need to win the biggest hands, all you have to do is extend the gap from loses to wins and you will be alright. It is always a good idea to know when you are losing and cut your losses. For instance if you are in a hand that you know you will lose then fold up shop and wait for the next one. Remember, in poker there is always another hand.

Most Common Texas Hold’em Mistakes http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/most-common-texas-hold%e2%80%99em-mistakes/ http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/most-common-texas-hold%e2%80%99em-mistakes/#comments Sat, 04 Dec 2010 00:04:27 +0000 admin http://www.extraordinarypoker.com/?p=5 If you love to play Texas Hold’em like millions of others then you know that there are certain things that will make or break a poker player. The first thing you need to know about playing Texas Hold’em is that experienced players will pounce on you and run away with your chips if you aren’t careful and stay away from all three of the most common poker mistakes. Do yourself a favor and never commit any one of these three Texas Hold’em mistakes.

3 Most Common Mistakes

Overplaying a pair – What many people do is over play a pair. If you have aces or kings dealt to you then great, but don’t go all in unless you are playing heads up. Odds are that you will be beaten by a three-of-a-kind or better. Just play normal until you get something better.

Expressing your hand – Never and I mean never express your hand. If you have a royal flush, don’t smile or jump up and down. Just sit there and act like every hand is a 2-9 off suit. It is better to show a constant expression of disapproval than to change your expression throughout the game.

Underplaying the pot – Many times if players have a really strong hand they will under play a round or two in hopes that another player will bet which then they can come back and raise with hopes that the other player thinks they are bluffing or buying the pot. If you are strong then bet because you don’t want the other players to catch a card that will beat your once strong hand.
